Ensure the wild hedgehog is protected by law by signing this petition

In November 2015 Oliver Colvile MP for Plymouth, Sutton and Devonport launched a campaign to save the hedgehog population, which has declined by between 30-50% over the last 15 years. The campaign has attracted support from The Times, the Daily Mail and the Telegraph to get the Government to take action to save the hedgehog.

In early February 2016, Mr Colvile hosted a Hedgehog Summit with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, the People’s Trust for Endangered Species and two Ministers from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

On Thursday 11th February 2016, he launched a petition calling on the Government to ensure that the hedgehog is better protected in law. You can sign the petition at petition.parliament.uk/petitions/121264.

The aim is to get 100,000 signatures so that the issue can be debated in the House of Commons. Make sure you get your friends and family to sign the petition!
